A New Hampshire Engagement Session with Emily& Logan [& Ace]
When Emily told me her horse Ace would be joining the session, I knew we were in for something special. Emily's sister's property in the New Hampshire woods was the perfect backdrop. When I pulled up to the property, I immediately was wowed by the golden light dappling through the trees and the tall grasses catching the late afternoon sun. The overall vibe that was equal parts rustic and dreamy. It felt like a place that had been waiting to be photographed.
Emily and Ace go way back. She used to compete with him when she was younger, and you can tell! The two of them together have a ease and a trust that translated beautifully on camera. Before the session, Emily gave Ace a full bath so he was looking his absolute best. Logan, in the same spirit, showed up with his truck freshly detailed and spotless. I love that they both came prepared in exactly the same way, just with each of their babies.
Logan was wonderfully sweet with Ace too, which Ace appreciated, especially when the cookies came out. He was completely professional and unbothered the entire time, as long as the snacks kept flowing.
Emily had a clear vision for the session: western, romantic, and full of personality. It showed in every detail, right down to who she wanted there with her.
Emily's niece and nephew joined in for part of the session. They'll be flower girl and ring bearer at the wedding, so it felt right to have them there for this too. Kids at sessions always bring a certain energy, and these two did not disappoint.
Once the kids had their moment, we moved on to Logan's truck. He's put a lot of love into it, and it showed down to the horse decals on the glovebox. Getting some shots with his truck felt like the natural next step after Ace, and it gave the session such a fun variety.
Emily and Logan are the kind of couple who laugh easily, even when they feel a little silly in front of the camera. That energy makes everything so much more fun, and it shows up in the photos in the best way.
This one had a little of everything: Ace, the truck, & the perfect summer light. So grateful to Emily and Logan for sharing their world with me for an afternoon.
